Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve pain and muscle tension throughout the body. This type of massage is extremely beneficial because it reaches the deepest layer of muscles, fascia (connective tissue surrounding the joints) and tendons. The goal in deep tissue massage is to breakdown tense areas within the muscle to release pain, inflammation and restore motion of the muscles and joints.

Swedish massage is a slightly more gentle massage than deep tissue. It is used to calm the nervous system, promote relaxation, boost your mood, stimulate your blood circulation and lymphatic systems, and keep muscle tissues more  supple.

Lomi lomi is a traditional Hawaiian massage also known as the 'loving hands' massage. The massage works gently yet deeply into the muscles with continuous, flowing strokes, allowing the recipient to relax and give in to the nurturing touch.

Lomi lomi works from the belief that memories are not just stored in the brain and mind, but also in every cell of the human body. The long, continuous strokes of the massage are designed to help the body let go of its old patterns and behaviours, which can cause as many stresses and strains as muscle tension.

Thai massage is like a cross between yoga, acupressure and shiatsu. It is inspired by Eastern teachings. The actual massage consists of slow, rhythmic compressions and stretches along the body's energy lines. Thai massage consists in applying pressure along 10 of the most important energy lines using the palms of the hands, thumbs, elbows, and feet. This allows to free-up tension within the body. Also by using yoga-like poses and gently rocking the body it allows to open the joints more freely and facilitate limbering.

Originally practiced by Native Americans, the Hot Stone Massage is a specialty massage where smooth heated stones are placed on the body while other parts of the body are being massaged.  The heat from the stone provides deep relaxation for tight muscles, help remove tension and  prepare the muscles for deep massage. Before you arrive, stones will be sanitized and heated up to in a bath of 120 to 150 degree water. The stones are made of basalt, a black volcanic rock that is well known for its ability to absorb and retains heat. The stones used for the massage have been smoothed by nature, using the natural forces of a river or the sea.

Massage specifically and individually designed for people living with or in recovery from Cancer.

For many years massage was believed to be a contraindication for people with cancer. Oncology massage does not increase circulation any more than activities of daily living such as exercising, shopping or caring for children, activities which the doctors urge their patients to engage in.

Massage for people with cancer is a safe therapeutic comfort orientated and nurturing. Oncology massage also aids coping abilities and generally improving quality of life.
